January 3  【Off-Road Adventure】

 "Lost toys! Lost toys!" announced Mi/ke the micro/phone. "Help needed!"

「おもちゃが行方不明！ おもちゃが行方不明！」ミスターマイクがアナウンスしました。「救助を要請します！」

 "What's wrong?" asked Woody.

「どうしたんだ？」とウッディが尋ねました。

 "It's the Gr/een Ar/my M/en!" Ha/mm the piggy bank cried from the windowsill. "An/dy left them outside and it's raining. Now they're stuck in the mud!"

「グリーン・アーミーメン達だよ！」ブタ型貯金箱のハムが窓台から叫びました。「アンディがみんなを外に忘れたままで、雨が降ってきたんだ。みんな、泥にはまっちゃってる！」

  Bu/zz and Wo/ody hurried to the window and peeked through the rain-splattered glass.

バズとウッディは窓へ駆け寄って、雨に濡れた窓ガラス越しに外をのぞきました。

　 "How are we going to help them?" Wo/ody cried.

「どうやってみんなを助けようか？」ウッディが言いました。

  "What about RC Car?" Ha/mm suggested.

「RCはどうだろう？」とハムが提案しました。

  Bu/zz and Wo/ody climbed inside RC, and the race car took off. RC raced out of Andy's bedroom and down the hall.　At the top of the stairs, Bu/zz and Wo/ody held their breath. "Here we goooo!" Bu/zz cried as they bounced down the stairs.

バズとウッディがRCに乗り込み、レースカーは発車しました。RCはアンディのベッドルームを飛び出し、廊下を走っていきました。階段の一番上までくると、バズとウッディはグッと息を止めました。「そーれ、行くぞぉぉぉ！！」バズは叫んで、二人はいっきに階段を跳ね降りていきました。

  "Ouch! Oof! Oww! yelped Bu/zz.

「痛いっ！うおぅ！おうっ！」バズは悲鳴をあげました。

  R/C raced to the kitchen and through the swinging dog door.

R/Cはキッチンへ突っ込んでいき、犬用ペットドアから外へ走り抜けました。

  "There they are!" cried Wo/ody.

「あそこにみんながいる！」ウッディが叫びました。

  "Situation critical!" shouted the G/reen Ar/my M/en. "Assistance needed immediately!"

「危機的状況であります！」グリーン・アーミーメンが大声で言いました。「ただちに援助を要請します！」

  RC Car veered into the dirt and parked near the Gr/een Ar/my M/en. Wo/ody swung his lasso and looped the rope around the soldiers. Then he tied the other end of the lasso around RC's bumper. As he backed up, RC pulled the Gr/een Ar/my M/en to safety. When they were all free from the mud, RC Car drove up the pathway and through the dog door. But when he got to the stairs inside, everyone groaned.

RCは方向を変えて泥に向かっていき、グリーン・アーミーメンのそばに停車しました。ウッディは投げ縄をくるくると回して、アーミーメン達に巻き付けました。それからロープの端をRCのバンパーにくくりつけました。彼が後ろにさがるとすぐ、RCがグリーン・アーミーメン達をひっぱりあげました。全員を泥から救助し終わると、RCは小道を走ってペットドアから家の中へ戻りました。けれど、階段の下まで来たところで、みんなはがっかりした声を上げました。

  "How can we drive back up?" asked Wo/ody.

「ここからどうやって二階に上がれるんだ？」とウッディが聞きました。

  "Don't worry!" Ha/mm yelled from the top of the steps. "We're on it."

「心配しないで！」階段の上からハムが叫びました。「こっちでやるから。」

  The toys had put together a train track leading right up the stairs. RC Car gunned his engine and up he went, just as Andy's mother pulled into the driveway. The toys quickly pulled the track back into Andy's room and put them back where they  belonged.

おもちゃ達は階段の上まで、電車の線路をつないで道を作ってくれていました。RCがめいっぱいエンジンをふかして二階まで登り切ったちょうどその時、アンディのママが車で帰ってきました。おもちゃ達は急いで線路を回収し、それぞれ、もといた場所に戻りました。

  "That was close!" said Woody. "But I think we got away with it. Andy's mom will never suspect a thing."

「危なかったな。」とウッディが言いました。「でも、うまいこといったと思うよ。アンディのママは何にもヘンだと思わないはずさ。」

  Downstairs, Andy's mother scratched her head. "I wonder where all this mud came from," she said.

一階で、アンディのママが首をかしげていました。「いったい、この泥はどこから来たのかしら。」と彼女は言いました。
